Hello I’m Joan
The creator and producer of Silver Sage, a weekly 30-minute cable television show geared towards the 50+ crowd.
This is one exciting venture! We feature people 50 and over who are pursuing dreams and living life to the fullest! Our goal is to encourage you to do the same! The second half of life can be more exciting than the first– a time you can discover new things about yourself, and a time you can experience even more fulfillment within.
There are many famous people who came to prominence after the age of fifty, and who’s to say you can’t join their ranks?
The famous painter Grandma Moses did not start painting until she was in her mid-70’s. She took up painting when her arthritis prevented her from continuing her beloved hobby of needlepoint.
Ernestine Shepherd was in her 70’s when she was recognized by the Guinness Book Of World Records as the oldest competitive female body builder in the world in 2010 and 2011. She began exercising and training when she was in her 50’s.
Oroville Rogers Watch him run! Not too shabby for a 99-year-old!
Harland Sanders of KFC fame, began franchising his secret chicken recipe when he was 62 years old.
We also have guests sharing their expertise in the areas of health and wellness, legal matters, finance, and more –sharing information tailored for this age group.
A little personal info on me: I’m a photographic artist, filmmaker, storyteller, writer, educator, adventurer, baker, Certified Professional Photographer, Master Gardener, Jesus Movement relic –some of my friends refer to me as a Renaissance Woman. I’ve had my company, Image Maker Visual Communications, since 1985.
Since surpassing that half-century mark myself, so far, I’ve accomplished a few things I’m happy about.
I developed a personal development photography-based program for girls and young women that I’ve received awards and national recognition for PhotographyWIthPurpose.com ;
I fulfilled a life-long dream of long distance running, and ran 3 half-marathons at the age of 58.
I’ve expanded my life-long passion for telling stories by venturing into screen-writing and film-making.
And–even with 30+ years in the visual communications industry, this venture into television production has its own learning curve, creating more opportunities for continued growth for me AND my team!
Thank you for visiting!
